I keep forgetting my go-to sites for worship video media. This list is for my future reference as much as to share with the interwebs. I prefer sites that allow unlimited download subscriptions, we tend to get more creative when it doesn’t cost us any more to try a new video.

http://shiftworship.com/ – this has a great price: only $149.00 a year. illustrative videos, motion backgrounds, even great advice on planning an entire service

http://gracewaymedia.com – powerpoint templates too. I use this one ALL the time. varying levels of membership. used to be powerpointsermons.com

http://www.theworkofthepeople.com - ultra cool, mostly illustrative videos

http://www.sermonspice.com/ - now offers memberships. I haven’t used it yet, but we have purchased lots of individual videos, to the membership will be helpful.

One more: not worship media, but it’s my go-to for desktop publishing

http://www.stocklayouts.com/ - very expensive, but WORTH IT!

I have an older version of WS FTP Pro: Version 7.0

This version, when used on a Windows 7 machine always hangs when it cannot access a host site or if the password is incorrect. I cannot even start the program as it will just recall the previous state and continue to hang.

To solve the above problem, i just open the wsftp_options.ini file using Notepad. I set “ClassicStartup=1″. Then my problem is solved. It can still hang, but at least i can kill the program using Task Manager and restart the program successfully.

Location of the file wsftp_options.ini is different depending on your Windows version. For Windows 7, that file is located at C:\Users\( your windows id )\AppData\Roaming\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\ folder

In the wild, koi are cold water fish who gain strength by swimming against currents.

I love this story:

Many years ago, in a time before recorded history, a huge school containing thousands of koi swam up the Yellow River. The colors of their well muscled bodies flashed in the sunlight making them seem like a million living jewels. All was going well until the koi reached a waterfall. Immediately, a large number of them grew discouraged and turned back, finding it much easier to simply go with the flow of the river.

Yet, a determined group of koi stayed on. Straining and leaping, those that didn’t turn back strove to reach the top of the falls. Again and again they flung their bodies into the air only to fall back into the water. All this splashing noise drew the attention of the local demons who laughed at the efforts of the struggling koi. Adding to their misery, the demons sadistically increased the height of the falls. Still the koi refused give up! Undeterred, the koi continued their efforts for one hundred years. At last, with one heroic leap, a single koi reached the top of the falls. The Gods smiled down in approval as the exhausted koi transformed into a shining golden dragon. He joyfully spends his days chasing pearls of wisdom across the skies of the vast and eternal heavens.

When another koi finds the strength and courage to leap up the falls, he or she too becomes a heavenly dragon. The falls have become know as the Dragon’s Gate and koi have become symbolic of perseverance, endurance and courage.

I refuse to wear a seat belt. I put on shoes only when required, ignore my cell phone for entire days, and consider many more people to be merely acquaintances than friends.

Whenever possible, I gratefully, wholeheartedly and recklessly drink deeply of pleasures to be had rightly; good gifts given by our indulgent Creator including but in no way limited to: laughter (even – or especially – in serious occasions), sex, rest, sunshine, punnery, singing in the shower and in the car, excellent food, luxurious accommodations when traveling, feeding animals, chocolate, fried food, solitude, hobbies, alcohol, impractical shoes, reading disreputable authors, good conversation, smiling, thinking things I’d better not say.

I refuse to take this brokenness as the final answer, I cry out to Papa to make it right, knowing that he can and will. I refuse to accept that this world we live in currently is enough; I am unsatisfied. I plead – with trepidation – for Papa to continue to remove from me my heart of stone and give me one of flesh. I refuse to settle down and be content in the here and now, to tamp down bubbling desires for true communion that will not be met this side of heaven. I savor my discontent. I dream of more.

I refuse to submit to the whims of my crushed spirit; I actively choose not to get in the car and drive away from all this, to run away in search of greener grass. It looks, from the outside, like nothing more than taking this life as it comes daily. It’s an act of mutiny against worshipping myself.

Waves rock me gently, in time with my breath. I want to stay in this middle land, between sleep and waking, drifting on a ship to far-away bays. I long to feel the warm sun on my skin, watch lightning bugs twinkle in trees along distant shores after sunset, to sleep under the stars.

If you are using skyfire as your browser: Long press the link – it’ll pop a menu, including “Save As”.

There are a couple of other android apps that can help

“Steel” browser: Once you have the page loaded … then long-press on the “play” and select “save” … this will allow you to save it. (essentially the same thing as skyfire)

Also check out an app called “download crutch”

With Save As is it’ll go into a default download folder on the SD card – no biggie, you can still play from there. You need a file manager to move it somewhere else, such as ES File Explorer.

Off to the side she is there, a glimpse of Hope! At first I only faintly recognize her presence by the lilting sounds of her voice; she is laughing with someone. A flash of color in the corner of my eye – my heart jumps a little at the fleeting sight. Her outline beckons me, now peeking through the clouds, then disappearing round the corner. I chase softly, quickly, eyes now bright for the hunt.

This is HUGE- I have had trouble with unstable ISW for years, yet it makes the custom reports I need. I just made a fresh install, windows 7 64 bit OS, 32 bit office 2010, with Quickbooks 2011 and ISW 2010. I was dead from the start, unable to even open ISW. AAAUGggh!

ISW 2011 will not open or you see the message: Error while creating empty workbook

Important: Intuit Statement Writer (ISW) 2011 works with only the 32-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010, not the 64-bit version. See Choose the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Microsoft Office. for the record, the 32 bit version works better in general, even on 64 bit OS systems. You can confidently choose it.

How to fix it

To be sure that Intuit Statement Writer 2011 can work with Office 2010 on your 32-bit -system:

Install QuickBooks after you have installed Office 2010.

If you installed QuickBooks before installing Office 2010, or if you continue to get the error, find and run thevstor.exe file. It is on the QuickBooks CD in the ThirdParty\MSOffice subfolder:

my next issue was that I didn’t have the CD on me… Download it directly from Microsoft here I know, it seems wierd, because it’s labled as for an older version of office than 2010. I have no idea why it’s needed, but it is – trust me.

Boom! fixed. That just happened. You’re welcome

Papa, bring me back to you. This teasing, unsatisfying taste of the rain, the few warm drops that threaten to break the heat and yet don’t quite deliver – remind me that I long for you. I wait for you as the dry ground waits, cracking in the hot sun, for a cloudburst to heal it’s fissures. I sit on the deck in anticipation, watching iron-blue storm clouds hold back their gift, hoping for a shower.

This heavy air that muffles sound waves to a dull thud mirrors my heart today. I have grown so used to playing in the fresh cool air of your revealed presence that this day, straining to hear your muffled voice with my muted ears, seems a famine. Yet, I am vaguely aware that this meager sustenance is merely a reminder of how far you have graciously brought me, a memento of days gone by. This used to be my normal, and I did not know I starved. Thank you for this recollection.

I remember a prayer, spoken a few years ago, in which I was beginning to know that I lived a solid, safe, enclosed, anemic life. I had my heart locked away in an airless room. I prided myself in self-control, planned ahead, eschewed extravagant food and living. I was dependable, I was prepared, I was unemotional, I was boring.

Yet I had an inkling that Papa was not so dull. His creation was endlessly creative, surprising & delightful. I began to wonder if maybe I was impertinent in my lack of appreciation for his good gifts and at a loss for how to change, I breathed a small prayer: teach me to appreciate your goodness, creativity, and generosity. Let me live less anemically.

It started with little, intentional steps: eating chocolate, being up for a little adventure here and there. But then, it seemed, this took on a life of it’s own: Food tasted better, somehow. I had always gone barefoot, but now my feet felt the grass and gravel & warm blacktop. It was as if my nerve endings came alive. I basked in the warmth of the sun & studied with pleasure the birds that seemed to come close more often.

Then you captured my heart with a glimpse of your Spirit, a taste of the unexpected yet knowable, irresistible, uncontainable. I see you in the wind, I drown in your grace, I am enthralled.

Make me your enraptured troubadour. Move me to write poetry to your beauty. Let me declare your splendor with my very breath and life in such a way that others are captured by you, seek to know if you are as beautiful and indulgent as I declare. Open my eyes and ears to you.
