    Better idea: lure him out of the garage with some cat food first. Otherwise, you’re bound to have some powerful olfactory associations for future years (as I have with skunk smell and my senior year of college - another story).

    Of course, I cannot encourage or condone the shooting of any animal… but skunks do have a very unfortunate smell. A human garage is not a good home for him.

    better idea; ask someone with a ferret for all of their cage shavings, old towels or whatever the ferret may have left it’s odor on; throw that stuff under the shed where the skunk will smell it. It will be like a movie drama.”No, you have to leave right now, they’re on the way.“
